Call for One Open Ph.D. position in the frame of SONATA Bis project entitled “Nanoengineering of thin layers of semiconductor photocatalysts in a microreactor environment for lignin-based model compounds valorization” funded by the National Science Centre in Poland.
Remuneration: Highly competitive Ph.D. Polish stipend (3000 PLN, tax-free) and a ¼ time contract.
Social benefits: private medical care; possible hotel accommodation for PhD. students.
Development benefits: work in a young and dynamic team; well-equipped laboratories of the Institute of Physical Chemistry and research centers in Spain and Netherlands; large autonomy during the execution of tasks; the possibility of publishing articles in worldwide prestigious journals and participation in international conferences; the possibility of preparing a doctoral dissertation; the opportunity to continue a scientific career at the Institute after serving a foreign internship postdoc with results in a form of publications and patents.
Activities, in which the applicants will be involved are:
Design, synthesis and characterization of novel multicomponent nanophotocatalytic thin layers supported on the internal walls of a fluidic microreactor, the study of their activity in the selective photo-oxidation of lignin-based model molecules and the correlation of their performances with the composition, surface morphology and distribution of the active sites.
