Under the CELISE project, Prof. Dr. Juan Carlos Colmenares, affiliated with the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Instytut Chemii Fizycznej PAN), conducted an expert mobility program in Colombia. The primary aim of this mobility initiative was to commence a very close collaborative work agenda with the Engineering Research Institute (In3) at the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia.

It should be noted that the CELISE project is funded by the European Union’s research and innovation programme Horizon 2020 — European Commission, in the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions. This programme aims to promote collaboration between international experts and foster the exchange of knowledge in various fields of research.

During the months of April and May 2023, Professor Dr. Juan Carlos Colmenares, an esteemed international expert, embarked on a mobility program to Colombia. Throughout this period, he engaged in various activities involving multiple stakeholders, with the following objectives in mind:

• Facilitate co-creation sessions to exchange knowledge, ideas, and experiences relevant to the project;
• Establish links with local university authorities;
• To present the objectives of the CELISE project to local university authorities;
• Promote collaboration between international experts and the Engineering Research Institute team;
• Contribute to scientific and technological progress in the research area in which the project is framed;
• To apply the knowledge and experience acquired in the CELISE project to promote research in Colombia;
• Strengthen the relationship between the Instytut Chemii Fizycznej PAN / Institute of Physical Chemistry of the PAS in Poland, VoCate Ltd in the UK, and the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia;
• Maximising the benefits of the European Union’s research and innovation programme Horizon 2020 — European Commission, in the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions.
