PASIFIC Fellows to Join Pioneering Net Zero Conference in Dresden

PASIFIC fellows, including Dr. Nilesh Manwar, have been invited to participate in the prestigious​“Building Bridges for the Next Generations” conference on May 27 – 282024.


This event, organized by Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) and hosted at the International Congress Center in Dresden, Germany, aims to continue the productive dialogue among international partners in Central Europe, focusing on the ambitious goal of achieving a Net Zero future.
 

The Free State of Saxony’s initiative underscores the importance of sustainable economic growth and technological innovation. Key topics include microelectronics (Green IT), sustainable construction, hydrogen, and fusion technologies.


The conference has featured a high-profile opening plenary session with notable speakers such as Sebastian Gemkow, Saxon State Minister for Science, Culture and Tourism; Prof. Sebastian M. Schmidt, Scientific Director at HZDR; Dr. Igor Papič, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Slovenia; Mgr. Jana Havlikova, Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Innovation of the Czech Republic; and Prof. Maria Mrówczyńska, Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Science of Poland. The session has been moderated by renowned science journalist Dr. Jan-Martin Wiarda.
