Microsymposium 2021: A great success on-line”

2021-01-24

Our annual microsymposium took place on 19 – 20.01.2021 on-line” using Zoom and the Breakout rooms functionality for individual poster presentations. During the microsymposium we had 8 impact talks, 37 flash presentations, and 71 posters, with a peak number of connected participants of 182!!!.

The participation of our group through:

  1. Impact talk by Ayesha Khan: Selective Oxidation of 5‑Hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5- Diformylfuran by Visible Light-Driven Photocatalysis over In Situ Substrate-Sensitized Titania”.
  2. Poster with 2‑min-flash-presentation by Dimitrios A. Giannakoudakis: Boosting the photoactivity of grafted titania: ultrasound-driven synthesis of a multi-phase heterogeneous nano-architected photocatalyst”.
  3. Poster with 2‑min-flash-presentation by Dimitrios A. Giannakoudakis: Supreme and selective capture of one of the most dangerous metal, URANIUM, by phosphonate-functionalized ordered mesoporous silica: surface chemistry matters the most”.
  4. Poster by Dariusz Łomot: When sonochemistry meets heterogeneous photocatalysis”.
  5. Poster by Swaraj R. Pradhan: Selective oxidation of aromatic alcohols in monometallic catalyst coated photomicroreactor”.
  6. Poster by Swaraj R. Pradhan: Ultrasound assisted catalyst deposition in microreactor for the photochemical valorization of biomass derived model compounds”.
  7. Poster by Abdul Qayyum: Sonophotocatalytic selective oxidation of lignin based model molecules to phenolics”.
