During a significant visit, Prof. Dr. Fernando Colmenares from the Engineering Research Institute (In3) of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia (UCC) met with representatives from the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences.

The aim of the meeting was to explore further scientific and academic work based on many years of collaboration. The discussions were marked by an eagerness to disruptively improve and expand their cooperation into bright future, leaving a lasting impact on both institutions.

Fernando Colmenares, a distinguished individual with a diverse academic background, brought a wealth of expertise to the table. He holds degrees in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the Warsaw University of Technology in Poland, and a Doctorate in Engineering, specializing in Energy Systems and Optimization, from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom. Currently, he serves as the CEO of the Engineering Research Institute and a Professor at the Cooperative University of Colombia. Fernando Colmenares is also known for founding the BERSTIC network, fostering co-creation initiatives between Colombia, the UK, EU, USA, and China. His contributions extend further as an advisor and peer-reviewer for UK Research and Innovation and MinCiencias in Colombia, as well as a member of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology.

The visit of Prof. Dr. Fernando Colmenares facilitated fruitful discussions and paved the way for exciting new opportunities in the realm of international scientific collaboration. The exchange of ideas and expertise promises to propel both institutions towards innovative advancements and impactful research outcomes.
