Fernando Colmenares, a distinguished individual with a diverse academic background, brought a wealth of expertise to the table. He holds degrees in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the Warsaw University of Technology in Poland, and a Doctorate in Engineering, specializing in Energy Systems and Optimization, from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom. Currently, he serves as the CEO of the Engineering Research Institute and a Professor at the Cooperative University of Colombia. Fernando Colmenares is also known for founding the BERSTIC network, fostering co-creation initiatives between Colombia, the UK, EU, USA, and China. His contributions extend further as an advisor and peer-reviewer for UK Research and Innovation and MinCiencias in Colombia, as well as a member of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology.
